Company   |   MP Lighting Environmental Statement
Our Commitment
At MP Lighting, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact by developing energy efficient products and promoting sustainable practices. We believe in providing our customers with lighting choices that will allow them to conserve energy and save money — a benefit to consumers and to the environment.

MP Lighting products are meant to withstand a long life and are designed using the latest technology with high-quality, energy-efficient lamps. The expansion of our LED line continues to be a top priority, as the demand for green products that are efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly continues to grow. We're a partner of Energy Star, a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society, and our products are recognized by State and Provincial Energy Rebate Programs like BC Hydro Power Smart. MP Lighting products embrace the cradle to grave design concept in terms of the full product life cycle, so when your lighting fixture can no longer be used all product parts are recyclable.

Sustainable Practices
Our commitment extends beyond our products to include a more responsible manufacturing process, from the way we promote our products to the way we ship them:

  • To reduce paper consumption, we utilize our website and email to communicate news about products and events to our customers.
  • MP Product catalogues are printed on minimum 30% recycled content paper stock, are FSC certified, and can be recycled after use.
  • Our products are shipped in boxes that are printed with water based non-toxic inks and are made with approximately 60% recovered fibres.
  • For sustainable packaging alternatives, we use Instapak® Foam Packaging, AirSpeed™ Smart™ Inflatable Packaging, and biodegradable peanuts.
    • Instapak® Foam Packaging can be reused for future shipments, used in municipal waste-to-energy facilities, or returned to a Sealed Air location for recycling.
    • AirSpeed™ Smart™ Inflatable Packaging is 100% recyclable (Category #4).
    • Biodegradable peanuts made from corn starch are used as loose fill, which can then be reused, dissolved in water, or composted, leaving no toxic residue.
  • Cardboard, paper products, and scrap metal are recycled on a weekly basis.
  • MP Lighting's facility features large windows and glass walls to maximize the use of daylight, offering energy savings, increased productivity, and health benefits.
A Greener Tomorrow
The result of our efforts means reduced energy costs for our customers and less waste being thrown into our landfills. At MP Lighting, we believe that taking small steps to reduce our carbon footprint will have a big impact on our future and our environment. We encourage our business associates and friends to follow suit — small changes can add up to big differences.
